    In this component three lawyers consider the legal, equality and diversity, and freedom of information and data protection issues in relation to the Prevent duty.

  2. Section 1

    A briefing note written by David Ruebain, Chief Executive of the Equality Challenge Unit, which considers in detail the relationship between Prevent and the laws relating to equality, diversity and human rights. There is also a presentation on Prevent Statutory guidance- related legal obligations

  3. Section 2

    A presentation, with training notes and a case study on ‘Prevent in the wider legal context’. The presentation and case study were written by Smita Jamdar, Partner and Head of Education at Shakespeare Martineau

  4. Section 3

    A presentation, with training notes, on the data protection and freedom of information issues that arise in the context of implementing Prevent. These were produced by Geraldine Swanton, Legal Director, at Shakespeare Martineau.
